Indian Airlines first female CEO appointed

For the first time, a woman became the CEO of an Indian airline and the government-appointed Harpreet Singh as the CEO of the regional subsidiary of Air India (AI) Alliance Air.

According to a report published in the Times of India, AI chief CMD Rajiv Bansal issued an order on Friday, stating that Singh “will take over as CEO of Alliance Air until further orders are received.”

Singh is currently the Executive Director (Aviation Safety) of Airindia. Instead, according to the report, the new chief executive of AI will be Captain Nevdita Basin, one of the top leaders of the airline currently flying the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Captain Nivedita Bhasin was also asked to lead several other divisions, due to his experience.
